A gesture controlled book reader was built for E8 Labs. Simple multitouch gestures like flipping, zooming and panning can be used in the air to control the book view.

Two versions were developed, the first one was written in fluxus, Community Core Vision and an IR camera was used for tracking. It was a bit sensitive to environmental light, so a new version was developed with the Microsoft Kinect camera, which was just released at the end of 2010.

Multitouch technology has been recently bought into the spotlight by iPhone and Microsoft Surface, although the field has been researched since the '80's.

Using the multitouch wall of Kitchen Budapest we built a couple of simple audiovisual experiments.
